Kenneth City Kitchen and Living Renovation

TGA Kitchens & Remodeling completed this kitchen and living renovation in Kenneth City, Florida 33709, on September 18, 2024. The project connects the kitchen, dining area and living room through an open layout and a shared palette of dark wood, black marble with white veining, and light porcelain tile.

The starting point: disconnected living areas

The original layout lacked continuity and felt closed in. The design brought the kitchen, dining and living areas together, allowing the rooms to relate to one another instead of being treated as separate finish selections.

That relationship is visible in the repeated materials. Dark wood cabinetry in the kitchen sits alongside black marble, while the living room fireplace uses black marble with white veining. Light flooring and large windows balance those darker surfaces across the connected space.

Kitchen: an island at the center

The kitchen is arranged around a central black marble island used for preparation and gathering. Dark wood cabinets and integrated stainless steel appliances carry the design around it.

Lighting operates at several levels: suspended fixtures above the island, recessed ceiling lights and a backlit backsplash. Each contributes to how the kitchen reads from the adjoining rooms, so the island, cabinetry and lighting form part of the larger living-area design.

Dining and living spaces

The dining area pairs a wooden table with geometric pendant lights. Its connection to the kitchen makes the dining furniture and lighting part of the view from the island.

In the living room, the marble fireplace is the focal point. Built-in shelving includes warm lighting, while large windows bring daylight into the shared space. Light-toned seating and wood furnishings complement the kitchen's darker finishes without repeating every element exactly.
